Those are the only things, though - all the other X86 stuff, including Electron apps like Slack and Spotify, have run perfectly. In terms of teething problems, Microsoft Edge doesn't have a build for M1 yet, and the X86 build has crashed a few times. I can now hear the coil whine from my smart bulbs, which is kind of annoying, but it shows you just how loud my old MBP was.

I've tried playing multiple 4K YouTube streams at the same time as editing vector artwork in Affinity Publisher and. This is just completely smooth, and the fan hasn't spun up once. My 2015 MBP used to have the fans constantly screaming just driving a 4K external monitor on the desktop - not even playing a video or anything - and the animations of minimising from one screen to another were always choppy. It's quick, obviously, but the silence is the main thing I've noticed. Set it up last night as a new computer, rather than bringing over six years' worth of application support trails and other nonsense. I went for the 16GB unified memory configuration, with 512GB storage. My M1 MBP arrived unexpectedly yesterday UPS had led me to believe it was coming later this week. Their numbered chips are based on year, so every iPhone release sees a new A#, so I'd guess if the M2 follows that it be around this time next year. Honestly, I can see the macs start being on a yearly refresh rate, but who knows if we will get a March/April M1X before an M2 next fall. They also seem to like to get all the old tech out of their supply chain in the summer with back to school sales, but have sometimes announced the new Macs at WWDC (but again, this may be due to when intel has made the chips available). Then budget devices like regular iPads and iPhone SE or new colors in the spring as well.

But then they switched to the chips being used first in iPhones in the early fall, and then the iPads in late fall along with the TV revisions. new chips used to get used in April in the iPads, and then put in the iPhone for the summer releases. In the past it's always been held to intel's roadmap, so the old playbook probably doesn't apply anymore. He made some new videos, we are discussing it and his behavior in them. Also, no one here is going out making youtube videos attacking him, starting a discussion over him based on "hating him". Yeah insulting his looks is uncalled for, but I think he's a little shit because he still pulls the same manipulative crap over and over again.
